This Month In SEO - 1/08

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

It’s that time. Time for another episode of This Month In SEO. Hard to believe, but another month has gone by with plenty of news to get to. If you’ve been here before you know a dedication is coming and you can probably even guess what that dedication will be. That’s right, this month’s post is dedicated to the Super Bowl, the true national holiday of the United States. Will the Patriots complete the undefeated season and walk off into football immortality? Will the Giants spoil the party with one of the biggest upsets the game has ever seen. You can probably guess what this New Yorker is rooting for.

We’re back! This Week In SEO is no more, but today marks the debut of This Month In SEO. It’s been awhile since I’ve written one of these so let’s hope I’m not too rusty and can make it all the way through. Dedication? How about to the end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008. The New Year is a good time for a review of the past and a look ahead. Let’s dedicate this post to the looking forward and a 2008 that brings you everything you want.

How I Write This Week In SEO

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Hey, where are the links?

My apologies for a linkless roundup post, but it’s only yesterday that I’m back to working after a vacation around the Thanksgiving holiday. That didn’t leave much time to put the usual post together this week. I’ve also decided to change the frequency of these posts, which I’ll get to in a bit.

This Week In SEO - 11/16/07

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

I can think of no better group to devote This Week In SEO to than turkeys everywhere. This post marks the end of the work week for me and the beginning of a much awaited vacation in New York to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends. The week around Thanksgiving is an annual visit for me and the kinfolk and this year will be no different. I’m looking forward to visiting some museums, spending time with people I hardly get to see, and the general energy of New York. I’m also looking forward to a little time away from the usual routine to recharge. I’m sure I’ll be popping in and out of my usual haunts, but for a few days I may be a little scarce.

This Week In SEO will be skipping next week to recover from a dinner that will be more than one should eat, but check in on my del.icio.us and StumbleUpon profiles for more links till we meet again. Now on with the show.

This Week In SEO - 11/9/07

Friday, November 9th, 2007

I thought I’d play the role of the good son and dedicate This Week In SEO to my mom who returned from a three week trip to China a few days ago. I’ve only heard a few details of the trip at the moment, but expect to hear many more when visiting next week. She went with a photographer client of mine so I have a hunch I’ll be seeing quite a few images of the trip while building a new China portfolio.

As always there’s a lot to get to and more links at my del.icio.us profile and StumbleUpon profile. On with the show.

This Week In SEO - 11/2/07

No more baseball. With all the recent baseball dedications I’m at a loss for a dedication. Google for their $700+ stock price? Nah, How about I devote today’s This Week In SEO post to you. Sound ok? My way of saying thanks for coming by and checking out the links and making your way through one very long resource post week after week. In honor of you feel free to leave comments about what you like and dislike about these roundup posts. I’m always listening, but in honor of you I’ll listen a little more this week.

As always there’s more at my del.icio.us profile and just for kicks there’s even a little more at my StumbleUpon profile. Two profiles for the price of none. You can’t beat that. Now on with the show.

One more baseball dedicated edition of This Week In SEO as the World Series is under way. As a Yankee fan living in Colorado I have double the reasons to root against the Red Sox this year. Sorry New England, but you know how it is. I respect your team, but I can’t root for them. Go Rockies!

As always there’s more at my del.icio.us profile, particularly some of the social media and blogging posts I was forced to cut from the links here. If you do visit my profile check out Jakob Neilsen’s Alertbox on passive voice. It goes against common wisdom, but makes a lot of sense. Now on with the show.

This Week In SEO - 10/19/07

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Mid week I had planned on dedicating today’s post to Dell customer and technical support for repairing an ill computer faster than expected, but I changed my mind today and will continue with the baseball dedications and specifically dedicate today’s This Week In SEO post to Joe Torre, sadly the now ex manager of the New York Yankees. Never has there been a manager who handled himself with such class, dignity, and honesty as Torre and the franchise has taken a step back today. New York will miss you Joe and most of us think you were treated with less respect than you deserved.

Bear with me as I dedicate another This Week In SEO post to the baseball playoffs. We’re down to four teams and by next week we should know who’ll be playing in the World Series. Hope you don’t mind a little more baseball talk until the series is over a couple of weeks from now. If you do mind, well that’s what you get for visiting a post about SEO written by an avid baseball fan. We seamheads can have a one track mind this time of year.

Plenty of links to get to and a few more at my del.icio.us profile so on with the show.

This Week In SEO - 10/5/07

Friday, October 5th, 2007

Last week’s post was dedicated to baseball and this week’s will too. That’s what happens when you use a show about baseball to name a series of posts This Week in SEO. Expect the next few weeks to have the same or similar dedications as we move closer to the fall classic. Last weekend’s close of the regular season was as exciting as it could be and the National League needed one more game than scheduled to determine who was in and out of the post season and it only gets better.

Once again have a look at my del.icio.us profile for some very good posts that didn’t quite make their way here.
