Aaron Wall wrote an interesting post over the weekend, Embracing Your Quirkiness, about allowing your uniqueness to shine through and that doing so makes you more citation worthy. While I’m not sure you’d want to share every one of your quirks with the world, I do agree that embracing your quirks instead of hiding them is the right approach to gaining links, running a business and living your life. Temporary Link Bait Can Still Be Good Content

The other day I responded to some arguments I have recently come across criticizing link bait and in turn offered my view that link bait will ultimately improve the quality of content on the web. One of the arguments that I glossed over was how some think link bait creates more temporary content and by its temporary nature reduces quality instead of improving it. Not wanting to leave things undone I thought I would continue with the discussion and offer reasons why temporary content can be just as good as permanent content and also lead to improved quality.

How Perceptions Alter The Message

One thing that always interests me is how two different people can interpret the same piece of writing in two completely different ways. We all bring with us our own history and biases and we approach everything new with our own set of perceptions. Our perceptions as much as anything are what determines what each of us consider true and help shape our own unique realities. My reality is different from your reality, which is different from his or her reality. And we can each draw completely different conclusions from the same information.
