Thanks Tony. Nothing wrong with aiming high. I think it's more that you don't want to aim at the bottom.

Thanks Kristine. I think selling on price is a natural thought for many people just starting out. I admit those thoughts filled my head when I first started out. I think it's in part because people don't understand how else they can compete and maybe lack confidence in their abilities to charge more.

People buy based on their perception of value. If you can convince someone that your products or services are a good value at the price they'll buy. How much you would pay for a bar of soap? Probably not too much. How much would you pay for a bar of soap that turned you into a supermodel with continued use? If you believed that second bar of soap existed you'd probably pay a lot for it. Definitely more than the first bar.

I completely agree with this. So many people get trapped into selling on price, which often ends in a price war with competitors. If the only thing you have to sell on is price, you probably should be selling something else.

In my opinion, education is the key. If you can educate someone about why your product is worth the money, and hit whatever the key fact is that will make them buy, you can convince almost anyone to buy anything, provided they have the money to spend.

Great post.
