Yeah I had never really heard of Derron Brown before, but I think I have a good idea of what he does now. I’m sure there was a lot more going on than the cab ride. The two marketers looked surprised so I don’t think they were in on anything, but I get the impression that much more happened to get them to draw what they did.

Derren Brown is quite popular in the UK. I don’t believe subliminal advertising works as well as he demonstrated, But it does work. He is knowing for using all sorts of suggestion in his tricks, The images seen on the cab ride were probably only a small part of it..

I’m thinking the cab ride had very little to do with it. I figured the bear was the ultimate culprit, since the bear was the first thing they saw.

Nevertheless, it’s kind of neat. I’d have to see additional studies performed one way or the other before I’d be convinced.

I think what they “saw” in the cab ride could have had an influence, but I doubt they really noticed all those things. I couldn’t even read half of that stuff when the camera was focusing on it. It’s hard to believe they were even aware of most of it. I do think a certain amount of imagery we see affects us on a subconscious level, but I think it really takes more than a casual glance like you’d get in a cab ride.

And do we even know if either of those guys was even looking out the window. Isn’t it possible that they were instead looking at each other and talking?

It is cool though. It didn’t seem like a set up in the sense that the two marketing guys were in on things, but I get the feeling there’s more to the whole thing than what we saw in the video.

I agree with you Sreejith. The video seems to work a little to well to be realistic. I think the experience of the cab is different though than watching the video. You’re not seeing those images subliminally so it’s not fair to compare what you might draw than what they did in the video.

That’s an interesting idea to write a post about subliminal advertising. I’ll look for a way to tie it into online marketing and see what I can come up with.

To be honest with you Steve, I think thats totally impossible. How can all of those stuff be similar. I mean, I saw the taxi journey on the video too. But I’m sure I will be making something completely different. Anyway, what do you think, Steve ?

And hey, can you dig up some more data related to this Subliminal advertising and stuff. I mean, a post on that would be really great.
