Thanks Pete. I’m glad you like the design and the tour through some of the designs that didn’t make it.

I was wondering why you hadn’t been posting lately and now I know. I’m sure I’ll catch the new design shortly after you take it live, but feel free to let me know when it’s done.

Happy to offer thoughts on it before it’s live too if you want any.

The new design looks great, Stephen. Really interesting to see the evolution. I’m actually in the middle of a redesign and hosting change myself, which has really cut into my posting.

Thanks Zerek. You’re not the only one who changes their mind. It’s funny, because everything I might tell a client not to do I end up doing myself. Designers make horrible design clients, just like doctors make for horrible patients.

I’m not sure anyone saw where the design started, though a few people have seen a number of the above images in various stages.

I always look for descriptive words for the site prior to designing. Often clients can’t give specifics of how they want the site to look, but if you listen you can hear how they want their brand to be perceived.

That’s what I’m trying to create with the design; an extension of the brand.

That was interesting because I’d seen some of the later stages of the site before it went up, but I hadn’t seen where you started. I like how you describe the process, particularly when you talk about finding words to describe how you want the site to look and feel. We do that with our sites and it helps our design process a lot.

I really do like this new design. I think it is much more welcoming.
