Really enjoyed this article and found the basic principles an easy way to logically explain the concepts to clients.

I agree with you 100% about the difference between User Experience and Usability Engineering. I like to say “Usability is not about building the sytem right, it’s about building the right system for users to accomplish their goals”

Thanks Greg. User experience is definitely important. I think there’s a distinction between usability and user experience though. For example something might be designed so beautifully or in a way to evoke a positive emotional response, but not have the most usable interface.

If ou emotional response to it is strong enough and makes us feel so good our experience is a good one and we may be willing to overlook certain flaws in usability.
