Edit: As with the previous post this post references the yellowhousehosting.com domain, which I am no longer using for this blog.
This business is named after a Van Gogh painting. You may or may not know the painting “The Yellow House” which for a time was Vincent’s home. When Van Gogh moved into his yellow house he envisioned it as more than the place where he would dwell while he painted the countryside in the south of France. He saw it as a place where fellow artists would come to learn, to share, and to paint. He saw his yellow house as a home for artists where they could feel part of a community.
The reason that particular painting was chosen to become the name of this business is because I envision this site much the way Vincent envisioned his yellow house. My goal for this site is for it to become a place for you to come to learn, to share, and to find new ways to improve your website and your business.
I spend a significant amount of time each week learning how to create and build better websites and how to market them once they’ve been built. I hope to share with you what I learn through this blog and through the articles that accompany this blog.
Building a website is relatively easy. Building and marketing a successful website is not. The more you know about how a website is constructed, the more you know what makes for a good design, the better you’ll be able to make the decisions you need to make regarding your business online.
Should you choose to let someone else design and build your site or are you up to the task of doing it yourself? Do you know the best ways to market your site and your business? How should you write your content so that visitors will take your desired action?
I hope you’ll come back and let me share what I’ve learned and continue to learn so I can make your task a little easier. And I hope you’ll also share with me and others through the comments to this blog.
